How we use AI

BondBridge uses AI to help you care for your relationships — never to replace them. This page explains, in plain language, where AI shows up, what data it sees, and the controls you have. The formal version lives in our Privacy Policy.

Our AI provider

BondBridge currently uses DeepSeek (deepseek.com) as its AI provider. When a feature below needs an AI reply, the relevant context is sent to DeepSeek's API over an encrypted connection. We never send your name, email address, or phone number — only the structured profile context you have explicitly toggled on.

Where AI appears

1. BB — your in-app companion

Chat with BB anywhere in the app ("Hey BB"). BB knows the profile you've built — personality style, love languages, the people in your circle — and uses it to give suggestions tuned to you. Conversations are stored so BB can improve over time, and you can rate any reply with a thumbs up / down.

2. Improve with BB

When writing a message to someone, you can ask BB to rewrite your draft in a tone that fits that person. You always review the result — BB never sends anything on your behalf.

3. Your public Pal

If you enable a public Pal page, visitors can chat with an AI that answers on your behalf. It only knows the fields you've switched on in your Pal settings — switch off personality type, love language, or hobbies, and they are never sent. Raw notes about your contacts are never shared with your Pal or its visitors.

4. Suggestions & nudges

Daily insight answers and quiz results shape gift ideas and relationship nudges (GiftBridge). These are derived on our own servers from data you chose to enter.

What AI never sees

• Your name, email address, or phone number.
• Profile fields you have toggled off.
• Raw private notes about your contacts (only you can read those).
• Anything from another member's account without their consent.

Your controls

• Per-field toggles — in your Pal settings, choose exactly which attributes any AI may use. Changes apply immediately.
• Feedback — rate BB's replies; ratings improve future quality.
• Opt out entirely — disable all Pal toggles and simply don't use BB; nothing is sent to any AI provider.
• Delete — deleting your account removes all data, including AI conversation history, within 30 days.
